When Afrikaans Was King

One way to conquer a people is to create a new language to communicate with the general population. This is what the Dutch Settlers did in South Africa in the 17^th century. They changed the language, and instituted laws to force the naturally born indigenous Africans to comply. To get an education in South Africa, the youth had to learn Afrikaans. To travel, to obtain a job, a pass was needed. The black African was imprisoned in his own land. White South Africa could not survive without white America, or white Europe.
