CHILDREN OF THE CARIBBEAN NATION IN BALTIMORE VISIT CITY HALL
The area is known as lower Park Heights, in the vicinity of PIMLICO racetrack, home of the PREAKNESS.
He was only 3, but he remembers the parade passing through his neighborhood. He watched with excitement, the flotilla of trucks filled with people in various colorful costumes; some looked as they were in a mud battle, with sweat falling from their foreheads. Voices were shouting in English, but to him it sounded like a foreign language.
So as not to feel out of place, he looked up at his grandmother and saw her gleaming eyes; he knew it was okay to watch the revelers, as they headed to an open-air pasture.
Today, he is 41, and the MAYOR of BALTIMORE CITY. BRANDON SCOTT is not on his parents’ porch, but in City Hall. He invited the promoters of the Caribbean One Carnival Festival to occupy his office, so he can watch the participation close, and give a mayoral sendoff in anticipation of the huge parade come July 12th.

Sharing is caring!

Great article my hometown Baltimore. I’m from West Baltimore and love how you captured Mayor Brandon than and now.
Thank you.
Oswald I did read your article about the Mayor…most of which I new. I know his stats and I have no real opinion about him one way or the other. I found your article informative and interesting for those who may not know the Mayor’s background! Until next time we meet…keep writing my Brother!!!
Thanks, my brother.
