In the 1800’s the white woman created MOTHER’S DAY; after looking at the suffering they went through at the hands of their male counterparts. Eventually it became a holiday in the United States, honoring the mothers who nursed wounds as nurses, cooked meals for the infantry, and nursed babies; some later BECAME DOCTORS, LAWYERS TEACHERS.
While the white woman had a perambulator, the black woman had her hip. The black woman became so valuable she was nursing white babies.
Then MOTHER’S DAY became commercialized. For the black woman, she may or may not be taken to a place of opulence, as her white counterpart may be.
She may be a single mother having a job, but still in need of essentials.
Many mothers have FUN on Mother’s Day, as I show in this article. Maybe next year I can comment on those who engaged in A MOTHER’S DAY RESCUE?
